The then Bishop of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church, Right Reverend Professor Osei Safo Kantanka has bemoan the unfortunate demise of a Ghanaian- US- base Javits Frimpong, a fifeteen year Old boy who was shot to death by a School mate in New your city in the United States of America recently in October 2026.
The Reverend Minister who doubles as a Lecturer emphasized that most of the School going Children in the Western World lacks good moral education and training.
Professor Kantanka explained that, unlike Ghana, most of the Education System in the Western World have abolished the God factor Knowledge from their syllabus leaving the Children going wayward, doing all manner of evils and some ending up as Notorious miscreants after their education.
Right Reverend then admonished the Ghanaian Christian mission Schools to Continually regulate and monitor their already established Schools like the St. Augustine’s College, Adisadel College, Wesley Girls, St. Louis and Others in order to be swayed by the good fundamental moral teachings and training they are known for.
He however advised Ghanaian Schools to emulate and stop copying the foreign education system blindly. This was made in his usual Sunday Morning Sermon on Kessben television in Kumasi.
His father, Thomas Frimpong, a taxi driver, says Javits had been bullied at School. He says the principal told him 3 days before the shooting that two students who had bullied Javits were suspended for a week. He believes the bullying may be connected.
